We will be using new registration software this year, as well as a slightly different registration process than in prior years. All conference information is available on the REGIONAL CONFERENCE page on the UPCOMING PROGRAMS tab of the NESCBWI website. Check out the Latest Conference News tab at the top of the conference page for all conference-related updates. Unlike past years, you WILL be able to RE-ACCESS your registration information to view at any time, and to make changes to your workshop selections before April 13.


This year, you will register in TWO steps, on *TWO different dates.
* Faculty members do NOT need to complete PART 2 of the registration process,
nor will they be required to enter a discount code.

PART 1 of registration will ask for basic information, critique/consultation INTEREST, and payment. Your unique identifier is your EMAIL ADDRESS, and you will also be asked to create a password. You must use this same email and password whenever you wish to access your registration information and in all your conference communication.

PART 2 of registration will require you to use the SAME EMAIL and PASSWORD (that you created in Part 1) in order to sign up for workshops.

As with past years, if you have indicated interest in critiques/consultations in PART 1, you’ll then receive a separate link in your CRITIQUE/CONSULTATION confirmation email to make your critiquer/consultant selection.


I’m Faculty; do I need to sign up for Workshops?


Where can I access Part 2 NESCBWI Conference Workshop Registration?

You will log back into the registration system using the same link you used to register for Part 1!

If you have already signed up for part 1, your browser might have kept you logged in. If you are not logged in, click the login button at the top right of the webpage.

What if I forget my login?

If you forget your password, click the forgot password button and follow the prompts provided. If you are unable to figure out which email you used to sign up, contact the registrar at for assistance.

Yay, I’m logged in! Where do I select workshops?

You can sign up for workshops on the Registration Selection Page.

(When you login you are on the Dashboard page. Scroll down past the Balance box to the Registration box to find the Registration Selection Page)

The workshop I want is full? What can I do?

First, check to see if the workshop is offered a second time. Some workshops are presented twice.

  • Sunday Workshops T1 and V1 are both Imbuing Animals with Real Life with Brian Lies
  • Sunday Workshops T4 and V4 are both Creating an Author/Illustrator Platform with Elaine Kiely Kearns and Sylvia Liu
  • Saturday’s Workshop L7 and Sunday’s Workshop S5 are both Writing From Childhood with Susan Tan

To be added to a waitlist, send an email to with the workshop session name (ex. K5). Also, sign up for your second choice workshop.

Remember, the 2- and 3-hour workshops overlap 1-hour workshop sessions. Decide whether you want to attend the longer workshop, or the shorter workshops. If you do NOT want to attend a workshop during any time block you need to select the option stating this decision.

Should I sign up for my critique/consult (NOT part of RegPack) or workshops first?

You may sign up in either order. You may decide which to prioritize.

Where do I schedule my critique/consult?

Scheduling your critique/consult is NOT in the RegPack registration system. You received an email confirming that you signed up for a critique/consult when you signed up for Part 1. You can find the link to sign up on signup genius in that email.

Can I sign up for a workshop if my critique conflicts with it?

Yes! Your critique will not be the same length of time as the workshop. If there is a workshop you want to attend at the same time, you may quietly slip out and back to attend the critique.

I still owe money; can I make a payment at the same time I choose my workshops?

Yes you can! You will select your workshops on the “Registration Selections” page. You can make a payment on the “Check Out” page.

I didn’t finish completing Part 1; can I still choose my workshops?

Yes, however, you must complete Part 1 BEFORE you are able to select your workshops. When you log back into RegPack, you will probably be directed to the first form “NESCBWI 2020 Conference Registration”. Please scroll through to check/enter your data before continuing to the next page, which is “Registration Selections”. Here you will complete BOTH Part 1 and Part 2 of your registration before proceeding to Check Out.

I haven’t registered for Part 1 yet; can I still choose my workshops?

Yes, however you must first create a RegPack account and complete Part 1 before you are able to select your workshops.



Once you have created your Registration Account, you can always return to look at your registration details – AND make payments, You will ALWAYS have access to the CHECK-OUT page.


(1) SELECT the TYPE of critique/consultation you want in PART 1.
(2) SCHEDULE your critique/consultation via SignUpGenius, which opens at 2:00 pm [EST} on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Scheduling instructions will be found in your CRITIQUE/CONSULTATION Confirmation Email.

We hope this registration structure will remove some of the stress in selecting critiques and workshops. We will be posting detailed instructions on the new registration process, complete with screen prints, prior to February 16th. Check back for updates!


We understand how frustrating it can be to fill out a form and think you’ve completed it, only to be told that you cannot continue because you didn’t answer all the mandatory questions. Many of the questions/fields on the registration form must be filled in before you can continue. These fields are marked with a RED CIRCLE on the right.

You may experience issues with RED fields when filling out your registration form, particularly with your personal information.

Use your TAB button as much as possible when moving through the form. If you notice your screen scrolling up unexpectedly immediately after you fill in a field, REFRESH your screen. [To refresh your screen, click on the small clockwise arrow in the top left corner of your screen.]  If you still have a RED BOX or MESSAGE even AFTER you’ve filled in a mandatory field, REFRESH your screen. If you reach the bottom of the form and discover you did NOT respond to a mandatory question, REFRESH your screen!
Refreshing your screen will NOT cause you to lose the information you have already entered!

If you change your mind when filling out the form, please click the CLEAR SELECTION button (if present) BEFORE making another choice.

If you notice a lag between the time you check/fill a field and the time the screen actually recognizes that the field has been checked/filled, you’ll know that the system is SLOOOOOW.
Please be patient!


Are you not going to have access to WiFi on February 16 and March 1 opening days? Are you worried about missing out on a critique/consultation spot (February 16 and on) or a particular workshop (March 1 and on)? If that is the case, consider asking a friend to register for you. **After April 12, you will still be able to register and/or make changes to your registration details by contacting the registrar.


What internet browser are you using when you register?

The new software we are using allows registrants to register from either a Mac or a PC. This software will work with most of the major internet browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. However, it does NOT support Internet Explorer, due to Microsoft ending support for this browser.



Some registration choices have limited enrollment (critiques, consultations, illustration challenge, portfolio showcase, Friday afternoon’s small group Welcome Session, etc.).  If you select this item during your online registration you will be immediately informed that you have been waitlisted, If you DO move off the waitlist, you will be contacted by the registrar; you can make your decision at that time as to whether or not you want to take the newly-opened spot.

Note: If you are waitlisted for a critique and/or consultation, this may preclude you from making another critique/consultation selection. For example, if you are concerned you won’t get off the AQQ waitlist, you might want to NOT select the AQQ and choose another session instead. You can always email the registrar to request to be added to a waitlist, regardless of whether the waitlist is automatically or manually created.


All workshops have an upper limit due to room capacity. If you discover that a workshop you wanted to attend is no longer open to additional attendees, please make another selection for that time period. If you would like to be added to a manual waitlist for that workshop, please email the registrar with your name and pertinent workshop code. The registrar will contact you if a spot opens up; you can make your decision at that time to move into the new spot or to continue with your current selection.


If you do NOT plan on registering for any critiques or consultations, we suggest you DELAY your PART 1 registration (personal information, basic conference information, critique/consultation selection, payment) a few days in order to avoid the February 16th 2pm PART 1 Registration rush. [We do NOT suggest this delay if you are hoping to attend Friday afternoon’s Small Group Session with TAB, since this is limited to 30 attendees.]
Please note that your PART 1 registration MUST be complete before you complete PART 2 (workshop selection); however, if you register for PART 1 on or after 2pm on Sunday, March 1st, (when PART 2 opens), you will be able to continue directly to PART 2 for your workshop selections.


If MANY/ALL the conference workshops appeal to you, and you would be happy to attend any number of them, we suggest you DELAY your PART 2 registration (workshop selection) a few days in order to avoid the March 1st 2pm PART 2 Registration rush. [We do NOT suggest this delay if there are specific workshops that you feel you MUST attend, since some workshops do fill up quickly.]
