New England is fortunate to have so many active PAL (published and listed) members activity involved. Here are some ways we are trying to give back:
PAL Coordinators – NESCBWI is currently in the process of finding PAL Coordinators to run programs in our sub-regions. We were recently excited to add Jessica Bayliss to the team as the coordinator for Southern New England. CT and RI PAL members can contact Jessica at PALsouthernNE@gmail.com For more information about volunteering as a PAL Coordinator, click here.
Shoptalks – ShopTalks are FREE one-hour workshops by published NESCBWI members. These workshops are requested and run by local critique-group leaders, but are open to the public since they are held at local libraries. PAL members who would like to present a talk should fill out this form: https://forms.gle/CaR5RUtqGAvx44Ax5 If a critique group leader requests the talk, the PAL member will be contacted by a Regional Advisor.
Read Local – NESCBWI wants to celebrate the new books of our PAL authors with our Read Local. If you are a SCBWI member, you can send your information to PAL Coordinator Jessica Bayliss at PALsouthernNE@gmail.com (subject: Read Local). Please include a cover photo, release date, publishing company, genre, and a buy link for the book.
We are always looking to add more opportunities. If you have ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out to our PAL Coordinator and Regional Team!
