Date(s) - 10/07/2017

Unitarian Church of Montpelier

Chris Tebbetts

First thoughts, best thoughts.

Or so the saying goes. Improvisation and play are a great way to tap into our first creative instincts and take them even deeper.

This day-long workshop with author Chris Tebbetts will include an introduction to improv and play as they apply to creativity in general and to writing in particular, from generating ideas, to first drafting, all the way into revision. It will include both lecture and a  variety of interactive exercises, focused on the practical side of showing up for the work and getting it done, as well as identifying our own triggers and impediments to success. The day will end with a chunk of writing time, to keep the creative momentum going.

Bring your computer and/or notebook and be prepared to let the words flow.

The day will include morning hot and cold beverages and refreshments. Cold beverages will be available throughout the day. Lunch will be on your own. We'll be right in the middle of downtown Montpelier, so there are plenty of options available for all your dietary needs. You may also brown bag it.

Parking at the venue is limited but a lot is located a block or so away and Montpelier's parking garage is accessible off East State Street. The big city municipal lot is across the way.
