NESCBWI CONFERENCE WINDOWS & MIRRORS DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

NESCBWI believes that making our conference welcoming and accessible to all writers and illustrators benefits each of us, our industry, and our readers. All children deserve to have books that serve as both mirrors and windows into the diverse human experience. With the goal of proactively seeking diversity, we are excited to announce a new conference scholarship for writers and illustrators from groups historically underrepresented in children’s literature.

The two Windows & Mirrors Diversity Scholarships will cover the cost of conference registration for one illustrator and one writer. Unfortunately we cannot provide funding for the cost of hotel, airfare, or other travel expenses.

Submissions will begin on January 30, 2019. The deadline to submit is February 23, 2019 at 11:59 pm EST.

The winners will be announced February 28, before registration for the NESCBWI 2019 conference opens on March 3, 2019.

There is no submission fee to enter, but the scholarship is for SCBWI members only. If you are not a member, find out more on SCBWI.org.

Only one submission is allowed per person. If you are an author/illustrator, please choose one category to enter.
